KANSAS CITY, Mo. â A Kansas woman who faces charges for her alleged involvement in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol said she believed she was attending a peaceful rally in support of President Donald Trump, according to Department of Justice documents.
Jennifer Ruth Parks and Esther Schwemmer, both of Kansas, were located and voluntarily interviewed by Federal Bureau of Investigation on January 17, the documents state.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. â One person is dead and four others are injured after a shooting Sunday night in the 18th & Vine District in Kansas City, Missouri, that stemmed from an argument, according to police.
Officers responded shortly after 10 p.m. to the area on a report of gun shots, and as they were en route to the scene received a separate call about a reported shooting, according to KCPD Public Information Officer Donna Drake.
She said officers arrived to a large, hectic scene, where multiple victims were located.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. â One person died Friday in a hit-and-run crash with a pedestrian in Kansas City, Kansas.
The fatal crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. near South 10th Street and Central Avenue, according to police.
KCK police said the victim is a resident of the city, but have not released an identification, pending notification of the family.
A large white or silver SUV pulling an enclosed black trailer struck the pedestrian and fled the scene, according to KCKPD.
