Clay County man, 18, charged in murder

KANSAS CITY, Mo. â A Clay County man is facing first degree murder and armed criminal action charges in connection to a Feb. 1, 2021 murder.
On Tuesday, a Clay County Grand Jury indicted Jraud D. Elliot, 18, in connection to the Feb. 1 incident, which left the victim, identified as Kamari Hughes, dead from gunshot wounds.
Elliot appeared before a judge on Thursday, where he pleaded not guilty.
He remains in custody on a $1 million bond pending his next court appearance on March 18.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. â Kansas City, Missouri, police officers found a man shot to death in a car late Thursday night.
Officers were called around 9:30 p.m. to East 116th Terrace and Troost Avenue for a medical call, according to Officer Donna Drake, a police department spokesperson.
When they arrived, they found the victim deceased in a car from apparent gunshot wounds
The man was identified Friday as 18-year-old Andrew Haines.
Detectives were canvassing the area looking for witnesses who may have information that could help solve the homicide.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. â Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating the death of a 4-month-old baby boy as a homicide.
According to KCPD, officers were called to the 5400 block of Harrison Street on Tuesday around 6:15 a.m. for a report of a baby not breathing.
EMS told officers there were no obvious signs of injury or trauma.
The infant was taken to the hospital but has since passed away.
KCPD was contacted Wednesday night by hospital staff, who told officers the baby died and there had internal injuries.
The Blue Springs Police Department is investigating after a woman was found dead and a man was critically injured Thursday in the 200 block of Northwest Mill Place.
Officers responded around 12:15 p.m. to reports of a gunshot at a residence and also found a man with critical injuries.
