KANSAS CITY, Mo. â One person is dead following a shooting Saturday night in Kansas City, Missouri.
Police responded to just after 8:30 p.m. on a reported shooting near 60th Street and Blue Hills, and witnesses directed police toward the area where they heard shots coming from, according to KCPD spokesperson Donna Drake.
Officers then located an adult, male victim in critical condition in the 6000 block of Highland Avenue.

The woman who died in the fire is 66-year-old Dora Gamble, according to her daughter, and the injured 3-year-old is a grandson Gamble was raising.
âI think the question is what Iâm not going to miss,â Gambleâs daughter, Tiffany Dawson, said. âHer smile mostly. She just warms the room.â
Neighbors smelled smoke and called both 911 and the Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department around 4:45 p.m.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. â One person is dead and an officer recovering after being shot in the head.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol, Independence Police were first notified of a person shooting a rifle into a residence on Carlisle Avenue around 11:20 on Tuesday night. When officers arrived, shots were fired. The suspect was struck as well as an Independence police officer who was shot in the head.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. â One person is dead following a shooting Tuesday night at an Independence gas station.
Independence police officers responded around 7:53 p.m. to a shooting call at the QuikTrip near U.S. 24 Highway and Route 291.
Upon arrival, they located one deceased person in the parking lot, according to John Syme, Independence Police public information officer.
Police said Wednesday morning they were speaking with two people of interest in the case.
The investigation is ongoing.
