Symbol of Colorado Springs future: New pedestrian bridge dedicated

COLORADO SPRINGS â An attention-getting installation visible from I-25 through Colorado Springs is now a functioning pedestrian bridge linking America the Beautiful Park and downtown Colorado Springs.
âIt s symbolically, in my opinion, a bridge to our future, said Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers.
The bridge s modern design was inspired by the gravity-defying motion of Olympic athletes, which compliments the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic museum it connects to. Other elements of the bridge include an overlook, an elevator for accessibility, stairs, and a place to roll bikes up and down.
