ENPO president Sashi Naga passes away Late C. Sashi NagaDIMAPUR/KOHIMA, MAY 17 (NPN): | Publish Date: 5/17/2021 1:36:59 PM IST  Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) president C. Sashi Naga passed away after a brief illness in the early hours of May 17, 2021 at Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research (CIHSR), Dimapur. Sashi took over the charge as ENPO president for the tenure 2021-2023 during handing and taking over programme held on March 31, 2021 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur. According to family sources, the body of late C. Sashi Naga was laid to rest at his private residence in Dimapur on Monday.  Owing to Covid restrictions, it was informed that the family members held a brief prayer meeting before his body was handed over to the district task force (DTF) for the burial.

Image used for representational purpose only GUWAHATI: Assam police on Thursday said the third abducted employee of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) is alive and in the custody of United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (Ulfa-I). The third employee junior technician (production) Ritul Saikia was abducted with junior technician (production) Mohini Mohan Gogoi (35) and junior engineering assistant (production) Alakesh Saikia (28) on Wednesday. Mohini and Alakesh were rescued by the security forces on Saturday from Mon district in Nagaland. The third ONGC employee is still in Ulfa-I’s custody and is alive. We have got the location of the group. They are stuck along the Indo-Myanmar border. We are collecting information with the coordination of Assam Rifles and Nagaland police, director general of police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta told reporters.

The “no unity, no tax” declaration by the Konyak community in the State’s Mon district is believed to be a move to provide fiscal relief to the people by ending multiple taxation.
