The Hardin County Chamber of Commerce recently announced the hiring of Margy Poorman as its new president and CEO who will assume her new position June 1.
Poorman, 55, of North CanÂton, Ohio, succeeds Brad RichardÂson who retired March 31 after 11 years as the business organizationâs leader.
Chamber board chairman Brian Kerr, owner and president of Kerr Office Group, introduced Poorman during a special ceremony April 27. Selected from among a pool of 350 applicants narrowed to four final candidates for her skill-set, effectiveness and experience in economic development and business advancement advocacy work, Kerr told the business and community leaders assembled that Poorman âis just what our chamber needs as we continue to build on the great foundation already in place.â

A pursuit that began Friday in Muhlenberg County ended in McLean County with the arrest of the driver on multiple charges.
Police attempted to stop 20-year old Michael Blalock of Falls of Rough for speeding on the Western Kentucky and a news release from KSP says he exited at Central City and fled into McLean County before losing control and overturning .
Blalock was flown by helicopter to Saint Vincent Hospital in Evansville and his passenger, Brenden Delawrence of Vine Grove was taken by EMS to Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville.
Charges are likely pending, according to KSP.
Three Elizabethtown men recently were indicted by a Hardin County grand jury for three separate incidents of first-degree strangulation earlier this year.
Brian Napier, 38; James Webb, 18, and Adam Webb, 34, face Class C felony charges punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted.
Napier also was indicted for fourth-degree assault â domestic violence with minor injury, and first-degree persistent felony offender.
Adam Webb also was indicted on a fourth-degree assault charge.

⢠Shannon Easterly, 39, Louisville, first-degree possession of a controlled substance â heroin; possession of marijuana.
⢠John Grimes, 42, Cecilia, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance â methamphetamine; possession/distributing explosives without a permit; possession of drug paraphernalia.
