Local roundup: WRV girls use big third quarter to dump Chieftains

SOUTH ROYALTON Sixteen points in the third quarter proved pivotal for the White River Valley girls basketball team, which took down visiting Green Mountain by a 36-31 final on Friday night.
The win is the first in a pair of games for the Wildcats this season. Despite this being the home opener in this abbreviated schedule, WRV also celebrated senior night. Senior Toni Turner helped set the pace with seven points while pulling down 15 rebounds. Fellow seniors Fiona Vaillancourt (three points) and Chelsie Trask also had key roles.

Baldwin Boyle Group has appointed Daisy Primayanti as MD of its Indonesia operations. Primayanti (pictured) brings more than 20 years of experience in the management of major reputational issues and crises, helping businesses meet their stakeholder expectations which ultimately enables them to achieve their business goals.
Prior to joining BBG, Primayanti was head of communications at HSBC Indonesia, where she has helped manage change during its major integration with a local bank. After a long wait for the season to get underway, the Oxbow High girls basketball team closed its season-opening contest on a 12-6 run to beat host Lamoille, 48-43, on Friday night.
Emma DeGoosh had five of her 15 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Olympians. Emma Parkin added 14, including a 4-for-6 effort from the free-throw line in the fourth. Arianna Bolles had 11 points.
Oxbow will regroup over the weekend before visiting Lyndon on Monday.
