SOUTH ROYALTON — Sixteen points in the third quarter proved pivotal for the White River Valley girls basketball team, which took down visiting Green Mountain by a 36-31 final on Friday night.
The win is the first in a pair of games for the Wildcats this season. Despite this being the home opener in this abbreviated schedule, WRV also celebrated senior night. Senior Toni Turner helped set the pace with seven points while pulling down 15 rebounds. Fellow seniors Fiona Vaillancourt (three points) and Chelsie Trask also had key roles.
