MANSEHRA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare Dr Hisham Inamullah has said that the government is working on a strategy for the economic empowerment of women and children with disabilities across the province.
“In the past, none of the governments collected such accurate data on women and children with disabilities but our government is following a strategy in this regard,” he told a gathering organised by the Helping Hand Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences here on Saturday.
Educationists, dignitaries and students from across Hazara attended the event.
Dr Hisham said the first sociological institution for the children with disabilities would be inaugurated within three months where mentally challenged children from across the province could be enrolled.

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health, Taimur Salim Jhagra Friday said that Sehat Card Plus Programme was a milestone achievement of the provincial government that would ensure provision of healthcare facilities to patients suffering from complicated diseases.
He was talking to Peshawar based acting US Consul General Jim Eisenhut through video link here. Those who were unable to bear treatment expense of complicated ailments would be benefitted from Sehat Card Plus Programme, he added.
He said that Sehat Card Plus Programme was started, keeping in view the miseries of the poor people in getting needed medical assistance and added that hundred percent population is being provided medical coverage through the card.

PESHAWAR: Taking notice of a video clip showing certain PTI lawmakers receiving wads of banknotes and stuffing them into bags during the March 2018 Senate election, Prime Minister Imran Khan removed Sultan Mohammad Khan as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.
Sultan Mohammad Khan, hailing from Charsadda district, was later asked to submit his resignation. He penned down his resignation on a piece of paper, which Chief Minister Mahmood Khan promptly accepted.
In his resignation, the law minister said it was his moral duty and obligation after the surfacing of the video in which his name was mentioned to offer his resignation. Describing himself as a committed team member of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan s cabinet and follower of Prime Minister Imran Khan, he remarked it was an honour and privilege to serve in the cabinet.
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Sultan Mohammad Khan on Tuesday sent his resignation to Chief Minister Mahmood Khan after he was asked to resign in the wake of a video that went viral on social media showing him and other lawmakers allegedly receiving cash for switching loyalties before the Senate elections in March 2018.
Mr Sultan has held the portfolio of law, parliamentary affairs and human rights for two and a half years after winning the July 2018 general elections on a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) ticket. He had quit Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) in 2017.
In a handwritten resignation letter to the chief minister, the minister stated: “Due to a video that is being circulated on the media today in which my name has also cropped up and being mentioned … I feel it is my moral duty and obligation to withdraw from the cabinet and offer my resignation.”
