COVID-19 has taken away many things in the past year, but it didn’t take away generosity.
While the pandemic and in the last two months, provincewide code red restrictions barred gatherings, it didn’t stop one special seasonal tradition: the
Winnipeg Free Press Miracle on Mountain campaign to help the Christmas Cheer Board.
Thanks to hundreds of generous readers coming together, sending in cheques or donating online, more than $227,000 was donated to help the Cheer Board buy more than 14,000 food vouchers for the people who needed help the most during the holiday season.
It far surpasses the $72,000 donated via Miracle on Mountain during the 2019 campaign.
