COVID-19 has taken away many things in the past year, but it didn’t take away generosity.
While the pandemic — and in the last two months, provincewide code red restrictions — barred gatherings, it didn’t stop one special seasonal tradition: the
Winnipeg Free Press Miracle on Mountain campaign to help the Christmas Cheer Board.
Thanks to hundreds of generous readers coming together, sending in cheques or donating online, more than $227,000 was donated to help the Cheer Board buy more than 14,000 food vouchers for the people who needed help the most during the holiday season.
It far surpasses the $72,000 donated via Miracle on Mountain during the 2019 campaign.
