The project is also likely to offer nearly 50 thousand direct or indirect job opportunities.  Dwarka Expressway, India s first elevated Urban Expressway, to be completed before Independence Day next year  New Delhi: Union minister Nitin Gadkari said on Friday that he is hopeful that the construction work on Rs 8,662-crore Dwarka Expressway will be completed before 15 August 2022. The 29-km expressway, which connects Dwarka in Delhi to Gurugram, is being constructed under the Bharatmala Project. Gadkari said it will be the first-ever elevated Urban Expressway in India. 

Kherki Daula toll plaza to be removed before August 2022: Gadkari

Updated: Share Article AAA Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said the Kherki Daula toll plaza here would be removed before August 15 next year. Mr. Gadkari was in Gurugram to inspect the construction of Dwarka Expressway along with Union Minister of State and local MP Rao Inderjit Singh. Mr. Gadkari said the shifting of the toll plaza was delayed due to legal complications and the matter was still in the court. He, however, added that the toll would be removed before the inauguration of Dwarka Expressway. “The toll plaza would be removed before August 15 next year. It will not be here before the inauguration of the Dwarka Expressway,” said Mr. Gadkari.

Motorists have alleged that these glitches meant that they were asked to pay cash in spite of having adequate balance in their FASTag accounts. Others complain that they are forced to pay twice the toll fee in cash in one of the gates since the tag does not seem to be working properly. Gurugram resident Raghuvendra Shukla was halted at the Kherki Daula toll plaza as he was travelling to the national capital.
