Last month, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the appointment of the first members of his “Commission for Diversity in the Public Realm.”
“Fifteen panellists [the Mayor’s 6 February communiqué revealed] have been selected to form the Commission and work to improve diversity in the capital’s public realm. The Commission’s role is to enrich and add to the current public realm, and advise on better ways to raise public understanding behind existing statues, street names, building names and memorials.”

On Dec. 9, I was a guest on Henry Tafoya’s “GameFace Live” podcast. Inevitably, the conversation turned to University of New Mexico men’s basketball. After a turbulent and unsatisfying 2019-20 season, I was asked, what did I think lay ahead for coach Paul Weir and his program?

We’re not sure when, just yet, but after meeting with media on Wednesday, University of New Mexico head coach Paul Weir said that his team isn’t done for the season. His confirmation came more than 24 hours after the Journal and the San Diego Union-Tribune confirmed this week’s two-game series against San Diego State had been called off, though it wasn’t confirmed publicly by the league or either school until Wednesday afternoon.
