PETER O’MAHONY HAS signed a new year two-year contract with the IRFU, keeping him at Munster until the end of the 2022/23 season.
The 31-year-old has remained a key figure in the Ireland team since Andy Farrell took over from Joe Schmidt after the 2019 World Cup and came into the current Six Nations campaign in superb form.
Murray coming straight back at 9 for Ireland shouldn t be a foregone conclusion

IT’S OF MAJOR credit to Conor Murray that for the majority of his career with Ireland, there hasn’t really been a genuine debate about who should be starting in the number nine shirt.
Ireland head coach Andy Farrell knows all about the Munster man’s qualities, having also worked with him on one of the scrum-half’s two Lions tours, but there’s no doubt Farrell has been hoping to see the longstanding incumbent put under more pressure for his place.

ROME (Reuters) – Ireland scored six tries in a 48-10 bonus-point victory over Italy on Saturday to earn their first win of this year’s Six Nations and condemn the hosts to a 30th consecutive defeat in the tournament.
Tries from Garry Ringrose, Hugo Keenan and Will Connors gave the visitors a seemingly unassailable 24-point first-half lead, but Italy hit back before the interval when Johan Meyer touched down in the corner.
