It’s not every day you hear a success story that comes out of the COVID-19 pandemic. But for Pamela Tomlin, founder of Ipswich River Craft, things hit a little different. Once a freelance TV producer in and out of work, she now spends her time building nautical signs in the comfort of her own home.
The signs are based on the nautical alphabet, which has a long history of being used by ships as a reliable communication method. The 26 colorful flags each represent a phonetic letter (with “A” being alpha, “B” being beta, “C” being Charlie, for example) and can be used to spell out words when put together.
