Idaho Lottery marks 32 years since the first ticket was sold Since 1989, Idahoans have won millions of dollars on a variety of games and in the same time more than $1 billion has been generated for Idaho education. Author: Joe Parris Updated: 6:15 PM MDT July 19, 2021 BOISE, Idaho On July 19, 1989, at the steps of the Idaho Statehouse in Boise, the Idaho Lottery sold its very first ticket to businessman JR Simplot. It was a non-winning ticket but it set the stage for decades to come. Idaho Journalists Take State s Lieutenant Governor to Court Over Public Records

Idaho Journalists Take State’s Lieutenant Governor to Court Over Public Records The non-profit journalism association says the lieutenant governor has been dodging reporters’ efforts to get the lieutenant governor to release unredacted records related to an educational task force feedback form. Janice McGeachin (Credit: IdahoReporter) (CN) The Idaho Press Club is suing Idaho Lieutenant Governor Janice McGeachin, claiming the state s executive second-in-command has been withholding records related to a feedback form on McGeachin’s creation of a controversial educational task force. The non-profit association brought the 19-page lawsuit against McGeachin on Monday after the association claims that several public records requests by numerous journalists were denied complete access to a document tied to McGeachin’s move earlier this year to create an educational task force designed to “examine indoctrination in Idaho education and to protect our young people from the scou

Idaho 6th Highest Jump in Gas Prices

Idaho 6th Highest Jump in Gas Prices To the surprise of no Idahoan, gas prices in the Gem State took off again last week. The higher the cost of gas, the higher the cost of everything from lawn maintenance to consumer goods. Idaho has been a historically high state for gas per gallon, and our Gem State consumers are feeling the familiar pain at the pump.

How Aquaman Star Jason Mamoa is Making Idaho Sexy In 2019 a travel site ranked Idaho as the 28th sexiest state in the country along with this hardly clever quip: With an official nickname of the Gem State, Idaho isn’t actually home to many precious hotties. Ok, it made me laugh a little bit because I love bad puns. But that can t possibly be true. Certainly there s been a shift in number since then because I look around and see a number of hotties when I m out and about. But I guess that might be because I live here. Does the outside world know that Idaho is just as sexy as any other state?! I mean, based on beards alone, Idaho is thriving in sexy! If Idaho weren t sexy would two of the hottest stars in the history  have starred in a movie called

Who s Representing Idaho At The Olympics

Idaho is not the largest state in the union however we are no small potato when it comes to representing the U.S.A. at the Olympics. Over the years Idaho has produced some unforgettable Olympians. Kristin Armstrong is our neighbor but she s definitely in the history books as a three-time Olympic gold medalist road bicycle racer who is the winner of the women s individual time trial in 2008, 2012, and 2016. Picabo Street from Triumph Idaho is another unforgettable Idahoan who made us all proud as the World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic gold medalist won the super G at the 1998 Winter Olympics and the downhill at the 1996 World Championships, plus three other Olympic and World Championship medals.
