AFL by Ronny Lerner 8th May 2021 7:21 PM Shai Bolton s ridiculous mark in the first quarter of Friday night s clash against Geelong has confirmed just how valuable the 22-year-old is to Richmond s forward line. The 175cm Tiger jumped on the shoulders of the 198cm tall Mark Blicavs, then got an extra boost to go so high into the air that he ended up taking a chest mark. There were shades of Shaun Smith s classic 1996 screamer against Brisbane at the Gabba, so Bolton could be forgiven for looking up to the scoreboard to take a sneak peek at the replay before converting the set shot from point-blank range.

The Melbourne Football Club this week secured Christian Petracca to a monster seven-year deal which has attracted plenty of discussion.
Kane Cornes believes the Demons may have pulled the trigger a little early on the mega contract for the 25-year-old, despite the fact he is playing the best footy of his career in 2021.
The deal is reported to be more than $1 million with SENâs Sam Edmund reporting as such.
WE have underplayed the Christian Petracca contract. It s a seven-year contract to stay at Melbourne, but it is worth more than $1 million a season. It s a monster deal through to 2029. Sam Edmund (@Sammy Edmund) May 5, 2021

The Cats paid a heavy price to bring in Jeremy Cameron for this very specific purpose.
The Cats knew they had to load up to match Richmond after 2020’s decider and they went all out, bringing in Cameron, Shaun Higgins and Isaac Smith at great expense. All three were superb in the rematch on Friday night.
The Tigers looked the better team for a half of footy, but Geelong kept pace before exploding away with a dominant third quarter.

Cornes names his Top 5 players in the AFL right now
By
Kane Cornes has ranked his Top 5 players in the AFL as it stands.
The Port Adelaide games record holder and premiership player had teased the topic earlier in the week when he suggested GWS star Toby Greene is a top-five player in the competition.
Cornes explained the genesis of his selections on
SEN’s The Captain’s Run.
“You sort of casually speak about it and I said I reckon he’s a top-five player in the game. It was put on social media and everyone loses their mind,” Cornes said.
