Coca Cola Enterprises: Creating Opportunities to Attract Graduate Talent
Coca-Cola Enterprises is the world’s third largest independent Coca-Cola bottler and the sole licensee for bottling in Great Britain, Luxemburg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Monaco, Norway, Sweden and Continental France. They got involved in the University of Kent s Employability Points Scheme to attract student talent through work placements.
The Challenge
The talent aquisition team were keen to promote their career opportunities to future graduates to influence their future talent pool.
The Approach
Following a presentation for the University s Careers and Employability Service, CCE became involved in the Employability Points Scheme and sponsored two 2-week work experience placements in their business technology department in the summer of 2012.

The impact of mindfulness on businesses in the work from home era

When asked to identify their top three investment areas for 2021, 45 percent of respondents identified wellbeing as their key investment area, particularly in response to the reported rise in mental health issues in 2020. 43 percent said they aimed to focus on investing in employee engagement.
The biggest challenge has to do with COVID-19 and the associated issues it may bring. 64 percent of respondents cited this as the top challenge for their HR department next year, while 47 percent said they felt unprepared for the “new world of work” post-COVID-19. The remaining respondents were split between budgetary concerns and a focus on continuing to engage their staff.

Organisers of Kent & Medway Business Summit 2021 declare event, staged on Remo, a success

It s normally a must-attend business networking event at the University of Kent s Canterbury campus - but this year things were a little different for the Kent and Medway Business Summit as the event switched online.
But the remote event didn t stop more than 300 delegates attending the event for five hours of networking and expert comment.

Organised by the university in partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses, Institute of Directors and Locate in Kent, the digital event brought together key policy makers with businesses large and small to create and share a vision for the region.

NSPCC Chief Executive Peter Wanless receives a Knighthood
Peter Thomas Wanless, Chief Executive Officer, NSPCC receives a Knighthood for services to Children, to Young People and to the Charitable Sector.
The 56-year-old, who lives near Sevenoaks, has been the nationwide charity s boss since 2013 and previously held a variety of posts at the HM Treasury.
