KENOSHA, Wis. - A girl was shot during a car theft at a gas station in Kenosha Friday, July 16 around 5:30 p.m.
Police said someone left the vehicle running and unattended at the gas station near 50th Street and Sheridan Road.
That s when police said a juvenile stole the car.
As the girl drove away, the owner fired shots, striking the girl.
Juvenile girl shot, injured while trying to steal vehicle in Kenosha
A juvenile girl is injured after she was shot while trying to steal a vehicle in downtown Kenosha Friday evening.
Kenosha Police say it took place around 5:30 p.m. at a gas station near 50th Street and Sheridan Road.
It began when the vehicle was left running and unattended by its owner, which allowed the juvenile girl to try to steal it.
As she was driving the vehicle away, the owner fired shots at the car.
The juvenile girl was struck and transported by Flight For Life to Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Police said the shooting was the result of an ongoing argument.
The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.
MPD is looking for the shooter.
