Marion County reports 82% of students back on school campus
Marion County Public Schools enrollment continues to remain stagnant at 41,190 students, 2,046 fewer than last year’s record, though many more students are now returning to in-person instruction during the pandemic.
In September, 66% of the district’s 41,040 students took in-person classes. That number jumped by Dec. 10 to 82% of the 41,190 students in the district.
That means nearly 6,700 more students are now attending one of the more than 50 school campuses than did in September.
As of last week, there were about 7,400 students of the 41,190 still taking online classes. There were about 14,100 students taking online classes, or what is called MCPSonline, in September.
