Ex-teacher aide in Marion County accused of lewd behavior
Marion County Sheriff s Office detectives have arrested a 57-year-old man for allegedly touching a girl at an elementary school.
Charged with lewd, lascivious behavior, Juvenal Gomez was taken into custody at his residence on Thursday by Detectives Billy Burleson and Brent Castellano.
Gomez made his first appearance in front of County Judge Jim McCune on Friday morning, and bail was set at $25,000. The Public Defender s Office was appointed to represent Gomez.
The Ocala man was fired from Romeo Elementary School, where he was a paraprofessional, or teacher s aide, according to school officials.

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A former paraprofessional at Romeo Elementary School is accused of molesting a student and other girls in the classroom said they also endured his inappropriate behavior, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Records show that on Nov. 20, a female student told a school employee that paraprofessional Juvenal Gomez, 57, had put his hand up her skirt to touch her inner thigh and then given her a blue “peso” a note students receive for good behavior with his name, phone number and “kitty” written on it.
