SHARE ON: Virtual celebrations and building new traditions
This year, with gatherings not being possible, Blind River’s French-langue Catholic school is hosting virtual celebrations via the Microsoft Teams platform and putting the electronic whiteboards to good such. With students and staff celebrating every month various holidays and successes, the festive spirit is stronger than ever at École Saint-Joseph.
To reinforce the feeling of solidarity, each class decorates their learning space according to the occasion. On Franco-Ontarians Day, each grade level created its own flag to display their pride. On Halloween, students paraded in front of the camera to show off their beautiful costumes as well as their classroom’s spooky decor. More recently, on Remembrance Day, each group created a memorial bulletin board to honour the soldiers.
Registering for the vaccine
Registrations are underway for vaccines in both the Public Health jurisdictions of Algoma and Sudbury.

The two clinics will be held on the east and west end of the Island today as well as Wednesday. Individuals will find out when and where when they call in for their appointment.
Meanwhile, the Elliot Lake Family Health Team has released a social media contact for filling out a form to prepare for mass vaccinations at the Collins Hall, which also starts this week.
