The storybook season for the Hillsboro Indians had a less-than-happy ending Thursday night when the Gallia Academy Blue Devils upset the homestanding FAC Co-Champions 59-58 in the D2 Sectional Final. HHS, in a frantic fourth quarter, trailed by as many 8 points twice in the final frame. However, the Indians came back both times and had two chances at a potential game-winning shot. Unfortunately, Hillsboro was unable to convert and was ousted from the tournament by the lower-seeded Blue Devils.
HHS, who never held a lead in the entire game, was led in scoring by Quentin Captain with 19 points. Other top contributors were Lawton Parry with 16 and Ryan Scott with 10.

The Hillsboro Indians were supposed to have played the Miami Trace Panthers for the second time Friday night. As it turned out, because of postponement, it was the first meeting between these FAC rivals.
Hillsboro, seeking their ninth straight win (after a recent take-down of Chillicothe), used a quick start from hot three point shooting Ryan Scott to key a 21 12 advantage at the end of the first period. HHS continued to build their lead in quarter number two (behind the shooting of Quentin Captain) and took a 37 24 edge into halftime.
MT, to their credit, started to chip away and outscored HHS by two ( 20 18) in the third frame and trailed 55 44 heading into the fourth stanza. Then, to put the game away, the Indians relied on a quartet of scorers (see below) to outscore Trace 18 10 and earn their 13th win of the season.
