The Hillsboro Indians were supposed to have played the Miami Trace Panthers for the second time Friday night. As it turned out, because of postponement, it was the first meeting between these FAC rivals.
Hillsboro, seeking their ninth straight win (after a recent take-down of Chillicothe), used a quick start from hot three point shooting Ryan Scott to key a 21 -- 12 advantage at the end of the first period. HHS continued to build their lead in quarter number two (behind the shooting of Quentin Captain) and took a 37 -- 24 edge into halftime.
MT, to their credit, started to chip away and outscored HHS by two ( 20 -- 18) in the third frame and trailed 55 -- 44 heading into the fourth stanza. Then, to put the game away, the Indians relied on a quartet of scorers (see below) to outscore Trace 18 -- 10 and earn their 13th win of the season.
