LUMPUR: The family of a passenger who was critically injured in last week’s collision of two light rail transit (LRT) trains on the Kelana Jaya Line near the KLCC LRT Station has sent a letter of demand (LOD) to Prasarana Malaysia Berhad demanding RM1.8 million in damages for negligence.
The LOD was served this morning through Messrs Jazzmine Khoo & Associates.
According to the law firm’s statement, the victim, Wong Chee Foong, 52, had sustained serious head, face and spinal injuries in the crash and is currently undergoing multiple surgeries and treatments at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

KUALA LUMPUR: The LRT Kelana Jaya line that was affected by a head-on collision on Monday (May 24) has resumed operations, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The Transport Minister, who was accompanied by Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, Public Land Transport Agency (Apad) and ministry officials, took a ride on the affected Kelana Jaya Line at about 3.45pm on Friday (May 28) to mark resumption of the service. We want to ensure that all safety checks were thoroughly carried out by Apad before allowing the line to resume operations. Apad issued the letter of approval to Prasarana for the line to be opened.
