Workers protest delay in filling of Pesco posts - Newspaper

KOHAT: Hundreds of workers of the Wapda hydroelectric labour union, Kohat chapter, held a protest demonstration here on Tuesday against delay in filling of vacancies in the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco). Speaking on the occasion, the union’s office-bearers said 50 per cent of the Pesco’s technical staff was going to retire soon. They feared that delay in filling vacancies would create serious performance issues in the company. They alleged that the reason behind increasing accidents involving Pesco staffers was appointment of untrained people made on political grounds. Separately, elders of Sorgul village have demanded immediate replacement of a worn-out electricity line passing through the village as it posed danger to lives of residents.

Body of missing boy recovered in Kohat - Newspaper

KOHAT: Hangu police on Thursday recovered the body of a grade three student kidnapped some 14 days ago and arrested his stepmother along with her two accomplices for the alleged murder. Addressing a press conference in the office of DPO Hangu, SP investigation Arshad Mehmood Khan and Thall DSP Saadat Khan said the Thall police had received a report about the missing 11-year-old Mohammad Asim a fortnight back. DPO Ikramullah constituted a team under his leadership which collected evidence and interviewed many people and was able to trace the culprits. The stepmother of the deceased, Gul Sanga, and her accomplices Gulzar Khan and Jumarat Khan led the team to the deserted place where they had buried the dead body.

Blind murder case solved, three held in Hangu July 2, 2021 HANGU: The police claimed to have traced and arrested three accused involved in the murder of an 11-year old child in the limits of Tall Police Station. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Superintendent of Police (investigation) Arshad Mahmood and others said that Muhammad Asim, a grade-III student, went missing from Afghan Refugee Camp area some two weeks ago. They said that Amina Bibi, own mother, came to the police station and registered a case about the disappearance of her child. The SP added that District Police Officer Ikramullah Khan constituted a team soon after the occurrence to trace the child and his kidnappers.
