The Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach is facing possible fines for multiple building and fire code violations that were first reported by the Town of Palm Beach Fire Department in September.
Officials at the Code Enforcement Board s meeting last month planned to discuss the status of approximately 17 violations the hotel was instructed to fix in January, but according to Fire Marshal Marty DeLoach, nothing was done at the property, 2800 S. Ocean Blvd.
DeLoach told officials at the Feb. 18 meeting that the violations included extensive use of electrical cords throughout the building, work performed without permit plans for electrical modification, blocked exits in many areas of the building and lack of maintenance of fire and smoke doors. He also was concerned about the hotel modifying its electrical system a year ago to “accommodate their single client.”

Louisville – Councilwoman Donna Purvis (D-5) and President David James (D-6) applaud today’s action by the Code Enforcement Board to uphold the order to vacate the premises issued in August 2020 against Dino’s Food Market.
The store’s owners were cited under the Metro Government Nuisance Ordinance after a series of complaints by nearby residents. They filed an appeal against the order to vacate which the Board ruled on today.
“Dino s at 2601 W Broadway has been a nuisance in the community for many years. As the councilperson of the district, I have filtered many complaints about the illegal activity and the impact on the quality of life for the area. I am pleased that we have won this first round in this battle and look forward to this location transforming into a business that will have a positive effect on our community,” said Purvis.
Volusia County will pause enforcement of short-term rental bans in parts of the county after weeks of lobbying from homeowners in Bethune Beach and Ormond-by-the-Sea.
Volusia County councilmembers unanimously voted Tuesday for a temporary suspension on the processing of new complaints related to short-term rental operation in unincorporated parts of the county zoned for residential use.
The item was not on Tuesday s agenda, but after a number of homeowners urgently addressed the council at the end of the meeting, County Chair Jeff Brower called for a vote.
He said he didn’t want to wait until the end of summer to see the rules changed.
