2/04/21 – Lawrence, KS – After three years of broadcasting Kansas Preps+, Jayhawk Gameday Live and countless games and highlights, Midco® has decided to discontinue MidcoSN® Kansas. The decision comes after assessing the local sports streaming climate as well as identifying some barriers to produce broadcasts. As a result, MidcoSN HD 622 and MidcoSN SD 32 won’t be available after Friday, April 30.
“This was an extremely difficult decision to make. We thank on-air talent Kevin Romary and Taryn Tempel as well as the four talented team members behind the scenes who created excellent content for our viewers,” said VP of Sports & Advertising Mark Powell. “Sports are in Lawrence’s DNA, and we were proud to contribute to the sports scene for a few years.”
The banner out front, now a little more weathered, maintains the same plea.
âPlease help find Robert Baron,â it reads. âSomeone here knows where he is.â
If someone does, theyâve kept quiet. For four years, the missing restaurateurâs family has had more questions than answers.
âTheyâve been devastating,â his daughter, Brittany Baron, said of the last four years. âTo not know, to not have answers, to just know these people are walking free on the streets and my dad is nowhere to be found.â
Baron, who was 58 when he vanished, was last seen at his restaurant at 511 S. Main St. in Old Forge at about 11 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2017. His son, Bobby, reported him missing the next day because he did not respond to text messages and was not in the restaurant or the apartment above it. Inside the restaurant, however, police found evidence of an attack. DNA testing confirmed blood and a tooth found inside the restaurant belonged to the missing

SCRANTON, Pa. It s been 40 years since Scranton School Board President Tommy Genova was killed in the parking lot of the district administration building.
He was 44 years old and left behind a wife and four young children.
All these years later, his murder remains a mystery.
His daughter Lori Macciocco remembers January 26, 1981, like it was yesterday. One minute, I was playing Atari that I got for Christmas and watching Little House on the Prairie that came on on Monday night, I kissed my father goodbye, and then the next minute I m kissing him on the operating table of a hospital. Cold. Dead, Macciocco said.

Three years after Genova was killed, prosecutors charged Terry Moran.
During the trial, charges were dropped.
Then Lackawanna County District Attorney Ernie Preate found several witnesses lied to police, potentially, to cover their own involvement in the case.
Kevin Costner, band to perform at Outlaws & Legends Music Fest

Yellowstone and Let Him Go star Kevin Costner has joined the lineup for the 10th anniversary Outlaws & Legends Music Fest at the Back Porch of Texas in Abilene.
ADVERTISEMENT We are beyond thrilled and feel super fortunate to have Kevin Costner and Modern West on our stage March 19, event organizer Mark Powell said in a statement Tuesday.
Powell and Deana Carter with The Hamiltons are also on the bill for opening night.
The March 20 headliner is singer-songwriter Randy Houser. Kevin Fowler, Lee Roy Parnell, Jaime Richards, Curtis Grimes, Jerrod Medulla and Della Rose are to perform, as well.
