A first-year starter, Kilkeary anchored a Blue Hens defense that ended the season ranked first in the CAA and 15th in the nation while helping to lead them to a 10-3 season that ended with a CAA semifinal loss. Bieda was the fourth-leading scorer on a Blue Hens offense among one of the most electric in the nation. Starting 12 of 13 contest and serving as a team captain, the New Jersey native put up 27 points off 17 goals and 10 assists. With the loss of Charlie Kitchen, Bieda could see his role increase during the 2022 campaign.
All of these teams have tremendous talents that show there are quality players outside of the ACC. Hereâs one player from every team worth watching. Note itâs not necessarily their best player, but someone who over the course of the year or their career has made an impression.
Air Force, Quentin Carlile, Jr., D He has an uncanny ability to knock down passes, and he brings it when the spotlight is brightest like last week vs. Richmond (5GB, 5CT), vs. High Point (3GB, 3CT), or at Duke (5GB, 2CT).
Army, Marcus Hudgins, Jr., D An opposing coach earlier in the year told me, âI knew he was good. I didnât realize he was that good.â He erases top matchups at close, played LSM earlier in his career, and will be one of the top defenders in the country by the time he finishes his four years.

Delaware men’s lacrosse has been the class of the Colonial Athletic Association all season, using the nation’s 13th-ranked offense led by Charlie Kitchen, Mike Robinson and Tye Kurtz to rise to the top of the conference standings.
However, the Blue Hens tied a season-low in goals in a Friday night matchup with UMass a number only reached in a loss to Drexel. Delaware had to turn to its defense, and goalie Matt Kilkeary, if it wanted to end its regular season with a seventh CAA win.
Kilkeary and the Blue Hens defense held the Minutemen scoreless throughout the second half en route to a 9-6 win at Delaware Stadium. The home teams scored the game’s final five goals, with Mark Bieda chipping in two tallies during the second-half run.

The next step into the future of Blue Hen Athletics is headlined by the building of the brand-new, groundbreaking Whitney Athletic Center. Following nearly two years of construction, the Center was completed in December of 2020 and is now being put to good use as varsity sports are in full swing this semester.
Named after Board of Trustees member Kenneth Whitney, who put $10 million towards the project, the building cost a total of $64 million to construct, with $39 million of that total coming from fundraising efforts.
Upon request, the University declined to comment further on the matter.

Duke took down Virginia in overtime on Thursday. Manhattan, Delaware and Georgetown all won in extra time. Mac O’Keefe is now the career goals leader in DI lacrosse. The Heels rolled the Orange out of the Carrier Dome. Saint Joe s, Delaware and Towson all won vital games.
I was able to watch Michigan at Penn State on Friday night. While it wasn’t the prettiest game you’ll ever see especially on the defensive side of the ball the compete level was high, as both teams let if fly. Mac O Keefe eclipsed the all-time career goal-scoring mark on a sidearm riser that pinged a corner and eventually bagged the golden goal in overtime. To see the Nittany Lions celebrate the win after a difficult campaign was a great reminder: keep battling. All victories, whether big or small, are significant.
