32 Teams Are Alive For a Men s DI AQ — Here s A Player to Watch From Each

All of these teams have tremendous talents that show there are quality players outside of the ACC. Here’s one player from every team worth watching. Note it’s not necessarily their best player, but someone who over the course of the year or their career has made an impression. Air Force, Quentin Carlile, Jr., D He has an uncanny ability to knock down passes, and he brings it when the spotlight is brightest like last week vs. Richmond (5GB, 5CT), vs. High Point (3GB, 3CT), or at Duke (5GB, 2CT). Army, Marcus Hudgins, Jr., D An opposing coach earlier in the year told me, “I knew he was good. I didn’t realize he was that good.” He erases top matchups at close, played LSM earlier in his career, and will be one of the top defenders in the country by the time he finishes his four years.

Sunday Wrap: Jake Carraway Goes Off Against Villanova With 8 Goals

Sun Feb 21 2021 | Matt Hamilton | College PHOTO BY JOHN STROHSACKER Maybe Jake Carraway was tired of hearing his name skipped over in the Tewaaraton discussion for this season. Maybe he was excited to meet a Villanova team on which he dropped five goals back in 2019. Maybe he was simply happy to have college lacrosse back after 351 days away from the game. Whatever the motivation, Carraway made the first game of 2021 count, tallying a career-high eight goals in Georgetown’s 16-1 blowout win over Big East rival Villanova on Sunday afternoon. Carraway scored twice in the first and second quarters, added three in the third and capped his performance with his eighth goal in the fourth quarter.

Nails-Tough Bryant Earns Guts Win Against Providence

Mike Pressler was emotional even after arriving home from the stadium on Saturday. “The sacrifice you make. All the sacrifices these guys have made all these other teams are doing it too, so we’re no different, but I care about us. What they’ve given up just to get back on the field. To see them rejoice in a big-time quality in-state rival situation. It brought me to my knees,” he said via Zoom, tearing up following Bryant’s gutsy 9-8 win against Providence in Beirne Stadium. The Bulldogs’ special teams excelled in the tight victory. Luke Caracciolo made 16 saves, Nathan Laliberte won 12-of-17 face-offs and new players stepped up for missing teammates.
