RANCHI: After the 2019 assembly polls, Congress returned to Jharkhand with a historic performance winning 16 seats and formed the government in alliance with JMM and RJD.
Nearly 18 months later, the grand old party is facing a massive credibility issue more than its partners. Some lawmakers are now under suspicion of being involved in horse-trading after three persons were arrested by Ranchi police on charges of attempting to “destabilise the government”.
Though it was Congress MLA from Bermo, Kumar Jaimangal, who played the role of a “whistle-blower” by filing a case with the Kotwali police station here on July 22, two days before the arrest, the incident has put Congress in the dock.
