In addition to the beach, river access and criss-crossing paths with Cochranites moving in all types of ways, the area also serves as an off-leash dog park. With residents sticking around town more than ever last year, they got pretty popular.

Cochrane is celebrating farmers market director Valerie McCracken after she was named to the Order of Cochrane, the townâs highest civic honor.

Recent discussion around the extent of the town’s operational and capital funding of the SLS Family Sports Centre sparked a conversation about what the town’s role should be in providing Cochranites opportunity for movement and activity during the pandemic.
During budget deliberations, five out of seven town councillors approved to be in favour of administration’s recommendation of $1.7 million in operational and $300,000 in capital funding for each of the next three years for the town-owned facility.
