Jewish Federation leads the way in Unity is Community

Through Dec. 31, 2020, the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando held a Human Services Relief Matching campaign, sponsored by the Jewish Federations of North America. The Federation raised $62K, which JFNA matched with $31K (50 percent matching gift), equaling a total of $93K for our community.
JFNA saw the need to create the Human Services Relief Matching Fund because of the economic crises - approximately 1.2 million Jewish adults felt the financial crunch that affected housing costs, and food security.
Federation Executive Director Keith Dvorchik contacted Jewish Family Services of Orlando, Central Florida Hillel, the Jewish Pavilion, Kinneret Council on Aging, and the Rosen JCC and Roth Family JCC to discuss their COVID-related needs. Supervisors support adding First 5 Center in Fairfield, 2 other proposals
FAIRFIELD Solano County plans to ask the state for $2 million to develop a First 5 Center in Fairfield.
It was one of three legislative proposals approved Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors. The others are to continue to offset the costs of Covid-19 on agriculture, and to expand the Family Stabilization Program in Health and Social Services.
“Children in Solano County fare worse than children in the state overall on several indicators of child and family well-being, including the percentage of babies born at a healthy birth weight, the percentage of 3- and 4-year olds enrolled in pre-school, and third-grade math and reading proficiency rates,” a legislative proposal approved Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors states
