Read it for yourself: HR-1 is For The People indeed!

Recently, I read the “opinion” piece of Perry O. Hooper in which he callously, and mistakenly, referred to HR-1 as a disaster. Sometimes, in determining exactly what something is, it helps to compare it to something else. Let us make some comparisons now.
Hooper claims that “The Democrats completely disregard the Constitution in this power play in the form of so-called election reform.” Not true. The 14th Amendment to the US Constitution granted citizenship to all persons… in the US, including former enslaved people, and guaranteed equal protection of the laws. Americans for Carbon Dividends, the advocacy arm of the Climate Leadership Council, is seeking to shore up support for its carbon tax and dividend proposal as policymakers have gravitated toward other ideas.
Steve Rice, managing director of Americans for Carbon Dividends, said the group aims to capitalize on the fact that big business trade groups, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and potentially the American Petroleum Institute, are coalescing around carbon pricing.

Members of the RSSC have been working alongside their state legislatures in recent weeks to promote voter-centric reforms that will strengthen the electoral process. In addition, the group has focused on promoting legislation that leaves states with the freedom and flexibility to administer their own elections, without federal overreach or interference.
