US President-elect Joe Biden has told election-weary Americans that it is time to turn the page , after the Electoral College affirmed his triumph over President Donald Trump, who has refused to concede and filed a litany of legal challenges to overturn the poll results.

Expecting Donald Trump to stop junking the recently concluded US presidential poll is akin to hoping for snowfall in the Equatorial region in summer! Not even a litany of his courtroom losses has stopped millions of his “Stop the Steal”-chanting supporters from quipping that he actually won the election, as his pushy and bombastic manner continues to bewitch them.
But such an incongruity shouldn’t really surprise any student of history. “The great masses of the people,” bellowed Adolf Hitler, “will more easily fall victims of a great lie than to a small one,” implying that the more bizarre and outlandish the propagandist pitch is, the redder the meat becomes to the Trump support base!
