A man was taken by helicopter to KU Medical Center after a single-car accident early Sunday morning. The Lawrence Police Department did not respond to the Journal-World phone calls or an email for information about the accident. However, Mike Frizzell, who monitors late-night scanner traffic for the Journal-World, reported a single-vehicle accident happened about 4:20 a.m. Sunday.
