LOCK HAVEN It’s a relatively light primary election ballot in Clinton County with only two county row offices on the ballot and four seats on the Keystone Central School Board open.
But there are a few contested races with some names from the past showing their faces in municipalities that may bring out a heavier than expected voter turnout, especially in those regions.
The primary election is Tuesday, May 18, and basically is just for registered Republicans and registered Democrats who may vote only on their party’s ballot to move candidates into the November 2 General Election, when the Republicans and Democrats can vote for candidates of any party.
LOCK HAVEN It’s deadline day.
Today is the deadline to sign up for Pennsylvania residents wishing to vote in the May 18 municipal primary election.
On Saturday, Clinton County Government posted a reminder on its Facebook page. It read:
The Deadline to Register to vote or to update your Voter Registration before the Municipal Primary Election is Monday, May 3, 2021. The Clinton County Board of Elections encourages all eligible Clinton County voters to make sure they are registered and that the information is up to date.
Voters can choose the online voter registration system at www.votespa.com or obtain a copy of the voter registration form at the Clinton County Piper Building located at 2 Piper Way in Lock Haven.

LOCK HAVEN – The sale of the former Dickey Elementary School will hopefully become a reality soon.
Jeff Johnston, Keystone Central School District board member, updated Lock Haven City Council on how the district plans to sell the property.
Johnston said an outdoor auction will be held on March 27 at 9:05 a.m. by Harry Schenck Auctioneer Service.
This is being done “in order to get it sold and back on the tax rolls,” Johnston said.
“It’ll be an outside auction. There will be some other items – desks, chairs, office supplies and a couple of vehicles – auctioned off as well,” he explained.

MILL HALL All Central Mountain High School students will return to the classrooms beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
The announcement came at Thursday night’s meeting of the Keystone Central School Board.
The district had been employing “cohort schedules” for the past several weeks. The cohort schedules featured students A through L (cohort 1) attending class in person on Monday and Tuesday, while Wednesday and Friday were remote. Students M through Z (cohort 2) were remote Monday through Wednesday and in person on Thursday and Friday.
“Late (Thursday) afternoon, it was confirmed that Central Mountain High School will be able to bring all students back next week, starting on Tuesday, as we have no school Monday (Feb. 15),” Superintendent Jacquelyn Martin said. “I believe that communications went out to families and staff.”
