Brenda Lea Bland WILMINGTON It is with a heavy heart to say that Brenda Lea Bland, 46, passed away at 10:05 p.m., Tuesday, July 13, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center. She had been battling stage 3 rectal cancer since Nov. 8, 2019. On Jan. 6, 2021, the news was given that the cancer had metastasized and was deemed terminal. To say that Brenda was the life of the party is an understatement. She could always make people laugh so hard their sides hurt. She always was able to provide a safe place for anyone to come and get what they were searching for, whether it be a venting session, a distraction from the world, or just a safe place to hang out at. She was a sweet woman with a heart of gold. She would give anyone the shirt off of her back without hesitation. To say that the world will not be the same without her doesn’t begin to cover it.
