Lighthouse Road closed for utility pole repair following Dennis crash

DENNIS A utility pole was heavily damaged in a motor vehicle crash on Lighthouse Road Friday afternoon. The Dennis Fire Department was dispatched to the area at 12:08 p.m., said Capt. Steven Hierholcer. The top of a trailer truck had struck the pole, causing it to split in two and bringing down the power lines, Hierholcer said. The area on Lighthouse Road from Lower County Road to the entrance of the Lighthouse Inn remains closed, Hierholcer said, as Eversource works to repair the pole. Access West Dennis Beach, the Lighthouse Inn or the Uncle Stephens neighborhood is available via Loring Avenue, the police department said on its Facebook page.

15-Year-Old Hospitalized After Being Hit by Car in Harwich

Getty Images (File) A 15-year-old boy is in the hospital after being hit by a car early Monday morning in Harwich, Massachusetts. Police say the incident happened at 1:15 a.m. The teenager was walking on the sidewalk and was hit by a dark colored truck on Lower County Road near the area of Brooks Road.
