The defense team for Joseph Alliniece, though scheduled to start Friday, won t begin presenting their case till next week.
Prosecutors wrapped their case against the man charged with killing Brittani Young; But his defense team has yet to begin presenting their case.
The jury box stayed empty Friday morning. It s because the defense team wanted to add more witnesses to their list. I really anticipated that we might be able to get the case to the jury today unfortunately that didn t happen, said Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn.
Instead of the defense presenting its case to the jury after lunch, the court decided to recess for the weekend just before noon Friday.

Wednesday marks one year since the Moore High School community was shaken after three students were hit and killed by an alleged drunk driver during cross country practice.
Seven Moore cross country students were running on the sidewalk near the high school. That’s when police say the suspect, Max Townsend, was driving 80 miles-per-hour, drove up on the sidewalk, and plowed through the runners. Officers say he eventually stopped a couple of blocks away.
Investigators say Townsend was driving drunk. They say he was upset over his own son’s death from a hit-and-run crash.
