Clint ISD holds memorial for employee and wife who died from Covid-19
CLINT, Texas The Clint Independent School District held a memorial for Leobardo Soria, a security guard at Carroll T. Welch Elementary school, and his wife Rosie on Tuesday evening. Leo and Rosie died after losing the fight to Covid-19 in 2020.
ABC-7 has been following their story since last year after their daughter, Bonnie Najera, was infected with Covid. Bonnie s parents were both admitted to the hospital and died a couple weeks apart. When we decided to honor Leo, it came to my mind, well Leo was a great person, but I bet mom (Rosie), was right behind him the whole time, said CISD Superintendent Dr. Juan Martinez as he addressed the family.
Ms. Nevarez would always inspire and empower people to always achieve more in life in all areas and to include pursuing an education, it said.
On Tuesday, a second memorial honored district security guard Leobardo Soria and his wife Rosie Soria at Carroll T. Welch Elementary School, 14510 McMahon Ave., in Horizon City.
During Loebardo Soria s memorial, his daughter, Bonnie Soria Najera, said every day her dad was in the hospital he was worried about missing another day of work and just wanted to get back to the kids.
A statement from the district recalled him as a kind-hearted person that always talked things through with students, he loved his job and interacting with students, he always welcomed everyone with a friendly smile, he was positive and always had good things to say about others.
