"Ms. Nevarez would always inspire and empower people to always achieve more in life in all areas and to include pursuing an education," it said.
On Tuesday, a second memorial honored district security guard Leobardo Soria and his wife Rosie Soria at Carroll T. Welch Elementary School, 14510 McMahon Ave., in Horizon City.
During Loebardo Soria's memorial, his daughter, Bonnie Soria Najera, said every day her dad was in the hospital he was worried about missing another day of work and just wanted to get back to the kids.
A statement from the district recalled him as "a kind-hearted person that always talked things through with students, he loved his job and interacting with students, he always welcomed everyone with a friendly smile, he was positive and always had good things to say about others."
