Prospective dog owners are sometimes warned that having a puppy is like having a new baby sleepless, grueling and thankless. Often, new pet parents realize the hard way that their puppy is absolutely nothing like a tiny infant: in fact, it’s worse. Babies, generally, don’t draw blood.
During the pandemic, when pup parents were stranded at home with furry land sharks, in the absence of group classes or in-person behaviorist sessions, one source of accessible guidance came in the form of dog training TV shows. In the U.K., where Kennel Club data indicates that 25% of new dog owners bought a puppy during the pandemic without doing their research, these shows became a lifeline.

Banijay Rights has promoted Claire Jago to EVP, EMEA sales and acquisitions, taking responsibility for the team and activity across the entire region, reporting to the division’s CEO, Cathy Payne.
Jago takes on the role following eight months as SVP, Nordics at Banijay Rights. Prior to the acquisition of Endemol Shine Group by Banijay, she was a senior sales director for Endemol Shine International. Now expanding her remit, she will oversee the group’s cross-genre sales and acquisitions strategy in the region, representing its 100,000+ hour-strong catalogue.
Banijay Rights’ portfolio includes MasterChef, Big Brother, Survivor, Mr Bean, Peaky Blinders, Temptation Island, Grantchester, Big Brother and upcoming scripted title, Chloe.
Banijay Rights names EMEA sales lead
Banijay Rights, the distribution arm of European production giant Banijay, has promoted from within to fill the role of executive VP, EMEA sales and acquisitions.

Claire Jago takes on the position following eight months as senior VP, Nordics, at Banijay Rights. She replaces Tim Mutimer, who left the company to serve as CEO of London-based distributor Cineflix Rights.
In her expanded role, Jago will now take responsibility for the team and activity across EMEA, reporting to Banijay Rights CEO Cathy Payne.
Alongside Jago, Matt Creasey will continue in his role as executive VP, sales, coproductions and acquisitions, rest of the world, handling territories outside EMEA.
