Introduction
India has performed remarkably well in terms of its climate trajectory over the past decade. From 2005 to 2014, the country’s GHG-emission intensity declined by 21 percent.
[1] According to Climate Transparency, India is the only G20 nation on-track to achieve the targets under the Paris Agreement.
[2] One of the key, albeit unfortunate, reasons behind India’s climate success is the underperformance of its manufacturing sector. Since industries constitute approximately one-fourth of the economy’s total GHG emissions,
[3] the sector’s sluggish growth has led to only a moderate increase in industrial power demand and emission-intensity of the gross domestic product (GDP).

CRAVEN College has been shortlisted for a prestigious award for its production of Little Shop of Horrors. The college’s performing arts department will find out if it has won the Music and Drama Education Awards for Excellence in Musical Theatre at an online ceremony in March. The college’s musical theatre project has been running since 2009 at the next door Mart Theatre, run by ex-student Andy Lynam. Little Shop of Horrors, in February, last year, was its most recent T production. Rehearsals ran from October, 2019 to the February at the college itself, before the production transferred to the Mart Theatre.
In India, mainstream environmentalism and development situate biodiversity conservation and human well-being as mutually exclusive goals. This is contentious because a large section of India’s population has inextricable economic, social, political, and cultural linkages with its rich biodiversity. The 4-Cs framework is suggested to address human well-being within the purview of ecosystem assessment and management by incorporating multiple social-ecological variables. Examples of domains, attributes, and indicators of human well-being are examined in the context of the Forest Rights Act (2006). Further, the framework can be tailor-made to guide conservation practitioners, establish the discourse on human well-being in the field of biodiversity science, and broaden the normative understanding of human well-being as an essential outcome of biodiversity conservation.
