A big new accommodation block for trainee airline pilots has been opened in Cheltenham.
Young people hoping to one day take control of a big jet plane are moving into the new centre in Lansdown Road.
Town MP Alex Chalk formally opened the 84-bedroom site on Friday on behalf of Skyborne Airline Academy, an airline training school based at Gloucestershire Airport.
The centre will be a home away from home for those beginning Skyborne’s Integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence course. Some will be from as far away as Malta and South Africa.

I am a white American, a young, straight, woman. Almost every part of my identity belongs to the dominant culture. I do not experience paralyzing fear when I see police officers. I do not overanalyze my actions in public. Do I struggle in other ways? Yes. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have privilege. And if you’re white, the same goes for you.
