The land is not currently accessible by any public roadway, except for a “farm road” off of Christensen Road, east of the city. The property has no easements and Adams has described the property as being “landlocked.”
The land first drew the attention of the City Council at its April 1 meeting, when Adams told council members that the city had received an unsolicited offer for the land. After conferring with City Attorney Roger Morgan, Adams and the Council decided to sell the land through a bidding process.
The money from the land’s sale will be used to help pay for the construction of the city’s new fire station, which will sit upon land donated by Mountain Home resident Sonny Sharp in honor of his late parents, William Elmer “Red” and Margaret Sharp. When completed, the station will be named “Sharp Family Fire Station #2” in recognition of the family.

A Mountain Home man who had a very short argument with the armed owner of an ATV he was allegedly trying to steal appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
Nineteen-year-old Keaton Garrett Seats, whose last known address was along Christensen Road, changed his plea to guilty and was put on probation for five years on a theft of property charge.
In mid-September, a man called the Baxter County 911 Center to report the theft of an ATV from his residence along Hickory Ridge Drive.
The victim said he had been inside his home when he heard the side-by-side ATV start and saw it being driven out of his yard.
