MORTON midfielder Kyle Jacobs has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal, with the option of a third, to stay at Cappielow until 2022-23. The 29-year-old has agreed the extension and becomes the first player to extend his stay at Cappielow under Gus MacPherson. Jacobs has become a fans favourite over the last two seasons with his combative displays in the heart of the Ton midfield, after becoming David Hopkin’s first signing of his tenure back in 2019. MacPherson moved quickly to keep Jacobs at the club after interest from League One sides Falkirk and Airdrie, as well as speculation linking the him with a move down the coast to join his former boss Hopkin at Ayr United.
