A local community group is urging the organizers of a Saturday event in Toronto s Chinatown neighbourhood to reconsider the potential repercussions of pitting two prominent voices from opposite sides of the political spectrum against one another during a live, in-person public face-off.
Toronto lawyer, activist and artist Caryma Sa d is scheduled to interview the famously antagonistic anti-lockdown poster boy Chris Sky (real name Chris Saccoccia) on July 10 at a new weed-friendly outdoor comedy venue called 420 Cannabis Court.
An exact time for the event will not be released until the day of, but promotional materials promise that it will be streamed live. NOW Magazine reports that 25 people will also be allowed to watch the show in person.

The community group Friends of Chinatown (FOCT) is urging Caryma Sa’d to cancel a planned outdoor public debate with anti-masker Chris Sky in front of Chinatown Centre.
The lawyer and activist announced plans to face off with Sky, aka Chris Saccoccia, as part of the outdoor comedy event 420 Cannabis Court on July 10. A time for the interview, which will take place at 222 Spadina in the mall courtyard known as the Chinatown Anti-Displacement Garden, has not yet been announced.
The interview will be livestreamed at 9pm on Saturday as part of her show Caryma Rules The Night. In-person seating will be restricted to 25 people, per Ontario’s step 2 outdoor gathering limits, Sa’d told NOW earlier this week.

Caryma Sa’d, the Toronto lawyer who has made a pastime out of antagonizing anti-lockdown celebrity Chris Saccoccia (aka Chris Sky), will now go toe-to-toe with the pumped-up anti-masker in an interview.
“My agenda isn’t to platform his dumb ideas, but to further entrench division within the movement,” Sa’d tells NOW Magazine.
Details of the Saturday, July 10 event were posted on Instagram Wednesday afternoon. It will take place at 420 Cannabis Court, the outdoor venue in the courtyard of Chinatown Centre on Spadina. It will be streamed live online as part of the debut of Sa’d’s online show Caryma Rules The Night. Seating will be limited to 25 at the venue.
