CHANDLER, Ariz. - As an investigation into an incident that led to the death of a Chandler Police officer continues, members of the community continue to mourn the death of Officer Chris Farrar.
Officer Farrar died following a chase that began on April 29. Gilbert Police and Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb said the pursuit began at about 10 p.m., when a sheriff s deputy tried to pull over a speeding vehicle near Eloy and then reported he d been shot at.
The police chase ended up in Chandler Airport, where the suspect driver busted through one of the gates, causing the facility to briefly shut down.

CHANDLER, AZ â A Chandler man said Friday that Chandler Police Officer Chris Farrar saved his life four years ago.
Donald Shaw said he was at his Chandler home on April 26, 2017 when he went into cardiac arrest. His wife Marji called 911, and Officer Farrar who was nearby- responded first. They told ABC15 Farrar administered CPR before paramedics got there.

A Chandler police officer was killed and a Gilbert officer was injured during a pursuit that ended in the southeast Valley overnight.
GILBERT, AZ â Several law enforcement agencies responded to the SanTan Motorplex in Gilbert overnight for a police incident that left one officer dead and multiple others injured.
Gilbert police say the incident started after 10 p.m. Thursday when a Pinal County Sheriffâs Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on SR 87 near Eloy. The driver fled and fired shots at the deputy who was in pursuit.

GILBERT, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A police officer is dead and another is in the hospital after a pursuit ended in Gilbert overnight.
According to Chandler police, 50-year-old Officer Christopher Farrar was struck and killed by a suspect identified as 25-year-old Jonathon Altland driving a stolen vehicle on Thursday night near the SanTan MotorPlex at the Loop 202 Santan Freeway and Val Vista Drive. Farr was an 18-year veteran of the Chandler police department and worked with the K-9 unit.
