SIMCOE A judge sought to help the public understand why a Norfolk County man who committed a “despicable act on an innocent child” got leniency in sentencing.
The 54-year-old man, who can’t be named as it would identify his victim, was sent to prison after pleading guilty in Ontario Court to sexual interference.

“The Supreme Court has reminded us of the harsh penalties that should be imposed where the victims are children,” said Justice Gethin Edward.
